Dataminer and Modder Lance McDonald reported that he was able to turn on the ray trajectory in a fantasy role-playing action with the open world Elden Ring from FromSoftware studio.

Reactressing was promised to appear on Elden Ring before the release, but the next mention of technology had to wait until the recent September update of 1.07.

McDonald found that with the Elden Ring file running, you can activate the ray trace function now, but at this stage it seems to be .

Instead of realistic lighting and Elden Ring shadows with Reutraysing on, it's coloring objects in the black effect zone. McDonald suggests it's due to missing sheaders.

A couple of observations about Elden Ring technology can also be made at this stage:

  • In the open world, the ray trail "ends" at a certain distance from the player; even with the raysing, the game uses reflections in the screen space. McDonald hopes that this will change to a full release.

The recent Elden Ring patch files, McDonald says, mention is made of the combination of Reutresing with . In addition to PCs, beam tracing is declared and for consoles.
