On Thursday, a Brazilian court fined Apple the equivalent of $19 million for selling an iPhone without chargers, and ordered the latter to go with all the company's new smartphones sold in the country.
The State Court of São Paulo ruled on the case filed with Apple by the local consumer and taxpayers' association, which claimed that the company had engaged in improper practices by selling its flagship products without chargers. At the beginning of September, the Brazilian authorities ordered companies to sell any version of the iPhone with chargers and fined it $2.38 million for "discriminatory practices" against consumers.
