The length of the crossover is 4,900 mm, the width is 2,120 mm and the height is 1,625 mm. The length of the wheelbase is 2,985 mm. In the design of the car, considerable attention was paid to aerodynamics, so the aerodynamic resistance coefficient is 0.29 and the ground clearance is 211 mm.

Polestar 3 can boast with a modern exterior face with Y-shaped front lamps and a SmartZone panel with heating, which contains different sensors and cameras, replacing the front bars. The capot is equipped with an aerodynamic wing that begins directly above the SmartZone panel and coincides with the back spoiler. The interior of the Polestar 3 was carried out in a spirit of minimalism. Throughout the instrument panel there is a vent strip. To interact with the information and entertainment system, there is a 14.5-inch vertical sensor screen, and behind the steering wheel is a 9-inch instrument panel. Three passengers may be placed on the rear sneaker seats. The interior trim, depending on the setup, may include aluminium elements, wood, as well as various seat upholstery options.

Polestar 3 is equipped with a 111 kilowatt-hour battery unit that supports a speed charge of up to 250 kW. When connected to a 250 kW charging station, the crossover is charged from 10% to 80% in 30 minutes, and when connected to a 11 kW household charger, the full charging cycle of 0% will take 11 hours. The vehicle battery can be used for charging different devices, other electric vehicles and even returning energy back to the grid. Under the EPA standard, a standard version of the vehicle can travel on a single charge up to 485 km.

The crossover is equipped with a pair of electric motors that provide up to 489 horsepower and 840 Nm torque in a standard installation. This is sufficient to allow the car to run from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds. In the version of Performance Pack, which is worth $6,000, the power is increased to 517 horsepower, and the speed of acceleration to 100 km/h is reduced by 0.3 seconds. Regardless of the selected version, the vehicle is equipped with an adaptive amortizer, a Brembo braking system, an electronic clutch.

The Polestar 3 on-board computer is based on the NVIDIA Drive platform and uses software developed in conjunction with Volvo to process data from cameras and a large number of sensors placed in the vehicle structure. The information and entertainment system is based on the Android Automotive OS. The standard set consists of a panoramic roof, glass lifts, automatic three-zone climate control, heating of front seats and the possibility of using a smartphone as a key.

The cost of Polestar 3 starts with $85,300, and the electric vehicles will initially be collected in China, but from mid-2024 they will start production at the Volvo plant in South Carolina, United States.
