SpaceX plans to develop a permit document for the launch of the Starlink satellite Internet service in India, which will become the third company in the applicant country, as reported by the Indian Economic Times with reference to its own sources.

SpaceX, which approves the source of the publication, plans to obtain a permit for the provision of services in the category of "Global Personal Mobile Satellite Communications" .In addition, the company will seek permission from the Indian authorities to deploy the earth terminals required for the sustainable operation of the network, as well as to allow the transmission of satellite signals on its territory, and SpaceX will seek official approval for access to the local financial market.

The Starlink service was registered in India on November 1, 2021, and SpaceX, the supplier's company, launched a large-scale advertising campaign in the country, even without a licence. In January, local authorities ordered companies to return money to consumers for pre-orders and not collect payments until the necessary authorization had been obtained.

Starlink will be the third satellite provider in India to be licensed to provide services in its own segment, with the British OneWeb, a member of the Bharti Group, and the satellite communications unit established by the local operator Reliance Jio.
