Planetary protection in action: The first time mankind was able to change the direction of the aster

A little less than a year ago, on the night of November 24, 2021, the DART mission sent a spacecraft to a dual-Earth asteroid, Dimorph, with the aim of changing the trajectory of the object.

On the night of September 26, 2022, the spacecraft made a planned collision, and now the American National Aeronautics and Space Administration has officially completed the success of the DART mission, and the research team has analysed the data from the last two weeks and confirmed that the impact has changed the orbit of the asteroid around Didimos by 32 minutes, reducing it from 11.55 minutes to 11.23 minutes.

Thus, for the first time in history, mankind has been able to change the trajectory of the celestial object, opening us to full planetary protection, while Cubot has introduced a compact secure smartphone with a 4.5-inch screen.
