XPeng X2 two-seat electrified for the first time in Dubai

It should be recalled that the Chinese manufacturer of XPeng electric vehicles has a unit called XPeng Aerocht, which has long been developing a so-called "flying electric vehicle", and this month's promised pilot flight of a prototype that belongs to the fifth generation. The vehicle has gone up into the sky over Dubai, thus performing its first public flight.

A GITEX technology exhibition was held in the UAE during these days, so the XPeng Voyager X2 prototype was well expected to attract at least 1,500 visitors to the event. In a leaked form made of carbon fibre to reduce the mass, there was room for two people. The fifth generation prototype is capable of air travel in manual control, but at the end of this month the XPeng promises to describe the characteristics of a "flying electric vehicle" of the sixth generation Voyager, which will not only be able to travel automatically on a given route, but also to travel over land routes. In fact, this property will allow it to be called a "flying vehicle".

Such transport is planned to be used in the future for short flights at low altitudes in the vicinity of cities, and the prospect of such services will depend to a large extent on regulatory bodies, which should integrate such activities into existing aviation safety regulations. The noise generated by an electric plane will certainly be taken into account in the operation of cities, although it cannot be compared to that of a traditional helicopter, nor can it be completely ignored. The XPeng Voyager X2 will be launched on 24 October.
