The regulator revealed how much money Xbox Game Pass brought Microsoft last year

The Tweaktown portal noted that the Brazilian Economic Protection Board had disclosed Microsoft's income from the Xbox Game Pass subscription service over the past year.

According to public documents released by CADE, Xbox Game Pass sales amounted to $2.9 billion between 1 January and 31 December 2021.

According to Tweaktown, $2.9 billion of Xbox Game Pass revenues in 2021 is 18% of the same total of Microsoft's total game unit over the same period.

It's important to note that we're talking about Game Pass on the consoles.

It is also not specified whether $2.9 billion in discount purchases and some Xbox Game Pass microtransactions are accounted for, or whether this figure only reflects subscription fees.

Remember, in April 2020, Game Pass had 10 million subscribers, in September 2020 it had risen to 15 million, in January 2021 it had reached 18 million, and in January 2022 it had reached 25 million.

The information provided by CADE became available to the general public as part of the analysis of the Microsoft-Activision Blizzard deal regulator for $68.7 billion. Previously, the competition authority approved the takeover.
