American blogger Sam Cheet, better known as Samperson, published a video showing a cult joker, Doom, working inside a "Blockboard" application for Windows.

This is the same "Blocknote" program, which is part of the basic set of Windows applications. The enthusiast used the text to recreate Doom graphics.

The Doom version for the Blocknott works at 60 frames/s. According to Samperson, the display video was not accelerated and the application's code remained unchanged.

It will be possible to make sure that the port is operational during the period for which Samperson plans to turn NotepadDOOM into .

At this stage, however, NotepadDOM was praised for its achievement, and one of the creators of the Doom John Romero :

NotepadDOM is not the first adaptation of the id Software joker for non-destined equipment; Doom was previously launched on a calculator with a potato battery, a pregnancy test, a fixed phone, a refrigerator, and even a tractor.

Meanwhile, id Software does not stop at what has been achieved, and following the March 2020 release of DOM Eternal, it is already making its next major game.
