BIOS source code for Intel Alder Lake chipsets allegedly leaked to the Network

An unknown person allegedly leaked a BIOS source code to Intel Alder Lake using an anonymous 4chan image, and a copy of the material was later probably published on GitHub. Files are packed in a 2.8 Gbyte ZIP archive, while unpacking data amounts to 5.86 Gbyte. The original material has not yet been confirmed.

The archive contains many files and tools designed to create biOS/UEFI embroidery for Intel Alder Lake and related chipsets. The data source remains unknown, but in one document there is a reference to Lenovo.

Even if the data are validated, it is not yet clear whether classified information can be used for the development of exhibits, especially if they are not directly from Intel but from an outside source. The same material is likely to have most of the producers of motherboards and OEM partners, and Intel should remove potentially problematic fragments from the dataset before sending the originals to outside suppliers. But any classified information has a status that even small parts of it can become sources of serious vulnerabilities, especially if there is a link to security components like TPM.

In June this year, the RansomHouse group tried to obtain a ransom from AMD for refusing to publish 56 Gbytes of stolen confidential data, but the reds did not pay, while the NVIDIA hacked itself in February into smoking, and the company launched a cyber attack on the intruders.
