It takes more than a milliamper hour: the story of the TECNO POVA series

It would seem that there is a story in a series that is two years old, but it's not that simple -- it's actually the TECNO smartphone family with the big screens and, consequently, the big batteries, it's a little longer and more rich.

About what today's smartphone lines look like, we've already talked about in the summer -- in this material we're going to talk about, perhaps, the most specific and interesting series, TECNO POVA.

In fact, the first smartphone in the series was the TECNO Pouvoir 1, a simple MediaTek MT6580W platform, a single rear chamber, but the main one is a battery with a capacity of 5,000 mAh. As a result, the concept itself "smartphone with a huge screen but with good autonomy" has not yet been formed, it is only a long time to work on a single charge at a very low price, but the series was launched.

TECNO Pouvoir 3 Plus can be called the first smartphone in the series, which tautens the values that will be captured by POVA in the future: the screen has grown to a perfectly decent 6.35 inches for 2019, and the battery has also grown to 6,000 mAh. It is still the smartphone of the lower price range, but it is large and has excellent autonomy.

But the real "POVA before the release of the first POVA" was TECNO Pouvoir 4 Pro, introduced in July 2020. I will say even more POVA than the current POVA. The smartphone received a 7.0-inch diagonal screen — a full-fledged tablet level, which in this case was supported by a battery for the same 6,000 milliumper-hour. In fact, based on this model, which still belongs to the budget price range, TECNO will launch a series of POVA in a couple of months – a name that on Esperanto means "capable", but hardly the manufacturer sent an artificial language to it; rather, it was simply a product from Pouvoir.

Technically, the first smartphone in the series was TECNO POVA, announced in October 2020: HD-screened 6.8 inch diagonal, a medium-class platform, a suitable triple camera with one focus distance, but with the help of a macro-module and, most importantly, a battery of 6,000 mAh, which allows the machine to remain highly autonomous even with a huge diagonal of the screen.

TECNO POVA, seeking a slightly higher price range, has already been discussed at the beginning of the material. The second smartphone in the series is TECNO POVA 2, which we have described in detail: the Full HD screen with a 6.9 inch diagonal, which is quite suitable for this level for the MediaTek Helio G85 platform and, of course, an impressive battery, which is a record 7000 mAh in the history of the series. This is a huge, thick and not too user-friendly smartphone, which has a maximum of two handles: "screen dimensions" and "autonomy." Yes, a large battery here serves not only for a line in the list of characteristics, but provides a truly impressive time on a single charge.

This summer we also introduced TECNO POVA 3, a detailed review of which we also produced. This is a very successful development of the ideas of the first two models, with a more interesting design, a fresh hardware platform, support for the frequency of the 6.95 inch diagonal update, with stereos and an increased amount of operational memory, but also an increased start-up price.

In December last year, the first TECNO POVA Neo was released, offering HD-screen a 6.8 inch diagonal, a single cell, a simple MediaTek Helio G25 platform, but not forgetting the 6,000 milliumper-hour battery. This is the direct heir of four generations of TECNO Pouvoir.

And with the release of the next "flagman" series, if you can say that about a single producer, TECNO did not delay -- and now, three months after the launch of TECNO POVA 3, we're getting TECNO POVA 4 Pro: the first smartphone in the AMOLED series with a 90 Hz frequency, a powerful MediaTek Helio G99 processor, and a maximum memory volume of 256+8 Gbyte. But we'll talk about it a little bit more later -- we're now preparing a detailed review of this machine.
