It seems that Volvo is making good use of the time remaining before the official EX90 premiere by releasing information on its functionality in small portions. Last month we learned that the machine will receive an advanced set of sensors in the active driver ' s assistance system, and will not only automatically intercept the control of a tired or inadequate driver, but also automatically cross significant distances when travelling across the country; however, this function will be available only for a supplement and in regions where the authorities will allow the operation of automatically controlled vehicles.

Referring specifically to the ability of Volvo EX90 to provide electricity to external consumers, the Swedish brand of Chinese investors explains that customers in some countries will be able to supply an entire private house with energy by means of a crossover traction battery, not to mention electrical tools and other equipment. Specific characteristics defining the capacity of the traction battery and the maximum power of the external users involved are not specified.

Note that manufacturers of electric pickups in the United States pay special attention to the ability to connect external consumers because such transport is often used for construction work. The Ford F-150 Lightning model with a battery of increased capacity, for example, can give 30 kilowatts of electricity to external consumers within three days. With reasonable energy use, it is possible to extend the independent life of home ownership by 10 days, as claimed by the manufacturer. The maximum capacity of external consumers is 9.2 kilowatts, while the pre-anoniser in the face of the Chevrolet Silverado EV pickup truck is ready to raise the bar to 10.2 kilowatts and to provide up to 10 home electrical outlets to the client to connect external consumers. What Volvo proposes in this regard will become clear as early as November.
