Google made a presentation today by Made by Google '22 in which it introduced the new Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro flagship smartphones, as well as its Pixel Watch debut smart watch.
Pixel Watch is made up of a relatively compact 41-mm stainless steel body and glass Gorilla Glass 5. The new one is equipped with an AMOLED round screen with a density of 320 ppi pixels and a brightness of up to 1,000 cd/m2. It is noteworthy, but Google does not specify the size of the screen. It is noted that it supports the Always-On function.
Pixel Watch is based on the one-crystal platform Exynos 9110, which is complemented by the Cortex M33 co-processor, which is responsible for efficient energy consumption in the waiting mode. It is designed to extend the time of autonomous operation, but at the same time ensure smooth operation and high productivity when required. It also has 2 Gbytes on-line and 32 Gbytes of permanent memory. It also has a NFC module inside.
A 294-mach battery is responsible for autonomous operation, which provides 24 hours of operation without charging, and a fast charge is maintained: 50% is filled in just 30 minutes and 100% in 80 minutes. A wireless charge with a magnetic attachment is the appropriate chargeable cable and the USB Type-C is delivered in a set.
The manufacturer notes the great potential of clocks to track the body and physical activity of the user with a heart rate sensor, oxygen levels in blood and others. There is a mass of functions for training, and users get detailed statistics on all the measurements that the clock will make. This is reflected in the fact that Google has previously bought a Fitbit, whose products are famous for their capabilities in the fields of fitness and health monitoring. In fact, it also supports the definition of the user's fall and the automatic call to the emergency service.
As a software platform, Pixel Watch uses Google Wear OS 3.5. So it's a kind of reference clock with this platform that other producers can match. It's worth noting a lot of different chips, as well as a lot of useful features and applications like map, wallet, and voice assistant Google Assistant.
The watch will be sold in three colors: black, silver, and gold. Google promised a huge choice of straps that would give the clock a more classical appearance, or a younger appearance.
Google Pixel Watch's smart watch is available in two versions. The Wi-Fi model will only cost $349.99, while the cell phone version is also estimated at $399.99. Pre-orders are accepted from today. The deliveries will start on October 13. Together with the hours, the user will receive three months of subscriptions to YouTube Premium and six months Fitbit Premium.
