The court dismissed Apple ' s appeal in the Qualcomm patent revocation case

The U.S. Supreme Court dismissed Apple's appeal for the revocation of three Qualcomm patents related to mobile devices technology.

The Qualcomm filed a lawsuit against Apple before the San Diego Federal Court in 2017, stating that the iPhone smartphones, iPad tablets and Apple Watch smart hours violated the intellectual property rights of Qualcomm.

Apple challenged the patents referred to in this case before the U.S. Patents and Trademarks Appeals Board. Even though the companies ' main claims against each other had been resolved as early as 2019, disputes over certain patents have not yet subsided.

The agreement signed then allowed Apple to continue using the Qualcomm microprocessors in its products, as well as to obtain a license for thousands of company patents. The agreement between Apple and Qualcomm is calculated until 2025, and it is clear that the manufacturer of the iPhone fears new claims for infringement of intellectual property rights after the expiry of this period.
