Italian sportscar manufacturers in general, although not opposed to the switch to electric power, call for a reasonable rate to be maintained by phasing out the FAC. Mark Maserati promises to offer each of the new models in electric operation by 2025, but to completely abandon the FAC only by the end of the decade. The first electric vehicle for Maserati will be the GranTurismo Folgore compartment, which can run up to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds.
According to The Verge, such a dynamic will allow the first Maserati electric vehicle a little bit to bypass the Porsche Taycan Turbo S, which is about 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds. However, the practical measurements of Maserati's statements are not confirmed. The company is not yet in a hurry to admit when it will release its first electric vehicle. However, it is already known that GranTurismo Folgore will also exist in two modifications with a V-shaped six-cylinder DVD equipped with two turbines. However, the differences in appearance with the electric version of the compartment will be minimal, mainly due to the absence of the last exhaust pipe and the presence of a characteristic charge beam.
The GranTurismo Folgore electric power plant will use an architecture with an 800-volt power system that will fill the charge from DC power stations up to 270 kW. The power plant will consist of three electric motors based on permanent magnets, each of which will reach 300 kW. The traction battery will have a T-shaped shape that will allow the seating position in the passenger compartment to be as low as in the petrol compartment. The battery capacity will reach 92.5 kWh, but only 83 kWh will actually be available for use.
Since the GranTurismo Folgore is oriented towards comfortable travel at a high speed, the passenger compartment provides space for four passengers, but the traction battery will make it necessary to reduce the useful volume of the trunk to 269 litres, and the petrol compartment will have only a little more than 311 litres.
The maximum speed of the first electric car, Maserati, is limited by a mark of about 320 km/h. The range of travels is not yet specified, nor is the possible price of the new one. There will be many displays in the passenger compartment, even the signature clock will be replaced by a small display on which secondary information and notifications can be displayed. A projection display showing the information on the windshield will also be available for payment. In the interior of the electric compartment, more environmentally friendly materials will be used than in the case of petrol. The voice control function will be the responsibility of the virtual assistant Mia. Maserati's second electric vehicle will be the Grecale crossover, which follows the GranTurismo Folgore.
