All the latest records in the field of the most powerful magnetic fields belong to the United States, some of which China has already been able to beat, the rest of which intend to exceed in the future. In particular, China has begun to build a complex to install the world's most powerful impulse magnet.
It should be said that just recently, a Chinese plant to generate a stable magnetic field produced a record result, creating a field with an induction of 45.22 TL. The previous 23-year record was held by the American National Laboratory of the Strong Magnetic Field, which created an installation with a permanent magnetic field of 45 TL. The record of creating an impulsive magnetic field is owned by the Los Alamos National Laboratory, the installation of which creates an impulsive magnetic field with an induction of 100.75 TL, which is 1.5 to 4 million times greater than the Earth's magnetic field.
China's scientists have planned to create a tool to obtain an impulsive magnetic field with 110 TL. The plant began to be built in Ouhan, planning to put the project into operation in five years.
The creation of these superpower magnets is a non-trivial task in every sense. Both a powerful local power supply system from a few gigawatts and the ability to convert this energy into a magnetic pulse without burning the installation. In 2018, Japanese researchers tried to establish an absolute record for creating a pulse magnetic field by 1,200 TL. According to Chinese sources, the experiment ended with the destruction not only of the installation but also of the laboratory itself, where it was installed.
