The Taiwanese company ASE, one of the world's largest enterprises specializing in the testing and packaging of chips, has declared its intention to build an intellectual plant that will respond to the shortage of labour that has reached the entire industry.
The new plant will be built in Gaosyun, and local communications will be the responsibility of the Qualcomm Snapdragon technology platform, where a 5G-millimetre-band autonomous network will be deployed, which will increase the speed of communication, stability and efficiency of equipment. ASE will actively invest in intellectual production from 2015 onwards, and the company plans to build 10 intellectual plants this year, so by the end of the year it will be 37.
The deficit in the semi-conductor industry remains the biggest problem affecting all stages of work, from design to direct production. Taiwanese chip manufacturers are actively expanding their enterprises, as demand for their products has increased dramatically in recent years, and local and foreign companies have begun to lure employees away from experienced players.
The President ' s administration has decided to actively support a promising industry, spending at least $300 million over the next 10 years on educational programmes and the opening of semi-conductor schools at technical universities, as well as the development of simplified entry mechanisms for valuable foreign professionals.
