The American manufacturer of navigation equipment and accessories, Garmin, has officially introduced an unusual inReach Messenger device to connect any smartphone under the control of iOS and Android operating systems to satellite communications.
It also works with smart watches, navigators, and other Garmin branding devices. It is worth noting that this is not a complete solution: inReach Messenger allows you to receive and send messages, transmit coordinates or send an SOS signal. You can't talk to a friend through a satellite. And yet, the device supports only one satellite system, Iridium.
