NVIDIA called the complete characteristics of Ada Lovelace graphic chips – transistors are much larg

NVIDIA shared the full characteristics of AD102, AD103 and AD104 of Ada Lovelace, which are the main video maps of GeForce RTX 4090, RTX 408016GB and RTX 408012GB respectively.

AD102 has a Crystal of 608 mm2 and has 76.3 billion transistors. AD103 has a Crystal of 378.6 mm2 and 45.9 billion transistors inside it. AD104 has a Crystal of 294.5 mm2 and 35.8 billion transistors. In comparison, the flagship graphics chip GA102 of the Ampere generation has an area of 628 mm2 and includes only 28.3 billion transistors.

The increased transistor budget included not only an increase in the number of functional units, but also an increase in the number of units; the NVIDIA reprocessed the CUDA, Tensor and RT cores; and the NVIDIA significantly increased the number of disassembly units, AD103 has 112 ROP, AD104 has 80 ROP units.

Another part of the transistors was to increase the volume of L2 caches in new graphic processors, and the flag chip AD102 received 96 mbytes of L2, AD103 64 Mbytes and AD104 48 Mbytes.

NVIDIA also corrected the inaccuracy in the description of the TSMC N4 production process, which is the basis for the new Ada Lovelace graphic processors.
