BenQ released a short-range gamer 4LED projector TH690ST

BenQ announced a TH690ST, which is designed for use in home cinemas. The new one is suitable not only for video viewing, but also for games.

The new one is a 4LED. This is a LED projector that adds an additional blue LED to the 3LED system. Its light is also converted to green to enhance the overall green output. When adding this individual light source, the green output increases by 40%, which in turn increases the overall luminance by 8–12% compared to the 3LED projector.

We're talking about supporting the 1080p HDR format. It's possible to create an image up to 100 inches from a distance of 1.5 metres to the wall or screen or up to 150 inches from a distance of 2.3 m. The input delay is 8.33 ms and the update frequency is 120 Hz. The brightness reaches 2,300 ANSI lumen.

The device supports a special game mode. It allows the image settings to be changed for dark or bright conditions and provides better clarity and detail to be sunk into the game atmosphere.

A total of 84 per cent of the colour space coverage of DCI-P3 and 98 per cent of Rec. 709 is declared. The equipment includes the audio system Tre Volo with stereophonic dynamics of 5W each. HDMI 2.0b and USB Type-A interfaces are available. The dimensions are 312 x 110 x 246 mm and the weight is 3.1 kg. The light source is said to have a useful life of 30,000 hours.
