The AMD Technical Marketing Director, Robert Hallock, leaves the company after 12 years of service with the company, which he reported on his social media page for the professionals LinkedIn. Hallock was a very public figure in AMD. He worked with the company's social media community Reddit, Discord, YouTube and other platforms, as well as actively interacting with the press.
" wrote Hallock on his social media page.
He did not tell us where he was going to continue to work, but merely noted that he planned to travel for some time, gather his thoughts and reflect on the next steps.
Hallock is not the first high-level employee to leave AMD in recent years; in 2017, Raja Koduri, general manager and senior vice president of the AMD computational and graphics group, left the red company. He is now president and executive director of Latine Semiconductor. In 2019, AMD also left several other public figures.
It's not clear who's gonna take Hallock's place at AMD. It's rather unfortunate that Hallock decided to leave before the release of a new series of Ryzen 7000 desktop processors based on the advanced Zen 4 and 5nm technology architecture. These chips are due to be released on September 27. The company will necessarily need a new public person who can tell potential buyers of the new platform about its capabilities at the technical level. And this person is likely to be nominated as soon as possible.
