This month, Intel hosted a press event for Intel Technology Tour in Israel, at which local representatives spoke about their achievements in developing the central processors of both the past and future generations.

The value may seem impressive for an unsustained user, but it should be borne in mind that such experiments are usually conducted using liquid nitrogen to cool the processors and do not have to rely on a heavy payload in the specified frequency mode. Moreover, not even all computational cores of the processor are usually active at a record frequency. The progress of the Raptor Lake family, based on its achievement of a frequency of 8 GHz with liquid nitrogen, is also not as high – at least the statistics of the Intel Core i9-22900KS show that they achieved a frequency of 7.8 GHz in June this year with eight kernels and eight streams.

It is not a fact, of course, that the frequency of 8 GHz will be limited, because practice shows the ability of individual copies of the new family processors to further improve the results of the extreme acceleration compared to the debut experiments that usually involve the use of early engineering samples. In the history of the Intel border 8 GHz processors, too, is not unique, as Céleron D-generation Cedar Mill processors have in their time vanquished the 8.5 GHz line, although they have been released using a mature 65-nm technology.

In parallel, the representatives of Tomøs Hardware note that the Raptor Lake processors, when using the normal refrigeration systems, will be able to increase the frequencies to 6.0 GHz dynamically. This is 500 MHz higher than the Core i9-129000KS limit frequency, which is considered to be Alder Lake ' s flagman. However, public exposure to the slides from Intel ' s presentation mentions only 5.8 GHz as the maximum frequency. It is possible that a beautiful value of 6.0 GHz is achieved for one or two active kernels in special operating mode.
