As promised, on the evening of August 31, the Internet flooded reviews of Western journalists on the adventure act of The Last of Us Part I for PS5 — a full-fledged remake of the cultist The Last of Us with PS3.
By the time the material was published, The Last of Us Part I on the Metacritic aggregate's website had accumulated more than 80 reviews. All of them are on the September 2 version of the PS5, as the PC project will reach a little later.
The Last of Us Part I's average rating is 89 out of 100 percent. Rethinking hasn't reached the original game and its PS4 remaster, both of which earned 95% on Metacritic.
Reviewers were encouraged by the graphics created from scratch, the improvements made by I.I., animations, the use of DualSense and three-dimensional sound, as well as an extensive set of accessibility settings.
Among the shortcomings of The Last of Us Part I are too high in value, a small number of innovations in gameplay, the strength of the PS3 game design, the absence of a multiplayer, and some new bugs.
Critics agree that The Last of Us Part I is the best version of an already good game, but as a remake is largely unnecessary, especially with a remaster giving about the same feeling for less money.
