The amount of data leakage in the bill on negotiable fines has been determined

According to RBC, companies will receive negotiable fines if more than 10,000 individuals, i.e. citizens, leak information; this is the option being discussed by a working group under the Ministry of Statistics.

In the middle of the summer, it was stated that the fines would be applied in two stages: the first leakage would be subject to a fixed penalty, the second leakage would be subject to a negotiable fine, and mitigating and aggravating circumstances would be taken into account in determining the amount of the fine.

However, it is now reported that a negotiable fine may threaten companies, including for the first leak, if it affects more than 10,000 individuals.

There are mitigating circumstances that "in particular, the amount of the penalty may be reduced if the company has detected a leak, publicly confessed, actively investigated and assisted the supervisory authorities.

It is noted that a bill on negotiable fines for identity leaks is being drafted and will be submitted in mid-September.
