Google released SDK to develop applications for different types of devices

Google is trying to simplify the development of Android applications that can be used on different types of devices. For this purpose, the company has created a new software development kit that contains the tools needed to realize the functionality of Android applications not only in smartphones and tablets, but also in televisions and even cars.

In the end, developers will be able to make mobile applications capable of operating not only on Android devices, but also on other operating systems, including Windows and iOS. At this stage, the new SDK will allow developers to perform three key tasks with their applications: to detect nearby devices, to install a safe connection between them, and to place applications on multiple devices. It is proposed to use Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or super-broadband to connect multiple devices.

Google describes different scenarios for using the new SDK. For example, it will allow several users on different devices to simultaneously order food in an appropriate application, thus forming a general order without the need to pass on a smartphone to each other in turn. Also users will be able to continue reading an article from where they left off when they switch from smartphone to tablet.

At this stage, a preliminary version of the new SDK, which works with smartphones and tablets on the Android base, is available to developers. In the future, Google plans to expand support for SDK to other software platforms, including Windows and iOS, but when this happens, it is not yet known.
