Synopsys software developer in the light of sanctions against China looks at business development in

One of the areas in which the United States authorities tightened its control over technology exports to China was software for automated design of electronic systems. Synopsys is now specializing in its supply, but after increasing sanctions, thought about expanding its presence in Viet Nam, as can be seen from Nikkei Asian Review.

At an event in Saigon Technology Park, Vice President Synopsys made statements on Taiwan sales, Robert Lee, and the company is ready to increase its efforts to train engineers in electronics design in Viet Nam, for which it donated 30 licences to local specialists for its software with a total value of $20 million.

According to Synopsys, Vietnamese engineers will be able to upgrade their skills and ensure the flow of orders from foreign companies into the country, as well as to enhance the development of electronic components for local appliances manufacturers. At least Viet Nam's specialists can design chips for refrigerators and air conditioners now. According to the representative, the production of a semiconductor chip is comparable in time with the delivery of a child, as it takes about nine months. This chip takes up to three years to develop a clean leaf component. The US now controls up to 97% of the market for automated electronic design systems, so the customers of Synopsys will be subject to the country's export control regulations.
