The developers didn't change the genre. Like the original, the remake is also a role-player and a lot of puzzles. In the trailer, they paid attention to the enemy AI SHODAN, the main opponent at System Shock. AI hates people and tries to destroy them by using different robots and quasi-humans who attack the protagonist.
In rethinking System Shock, players who love the original will be able to re-enter familiar locations, including the legendary Citadel, but the quality of graphics is better. The interface and the gameplay are also modern.
Remember, the original System Shock was released in 1994 and the remake has been developed for six years. The release dates are not known. Only targeted platforms are known: PC and PS4 and Xbox One consoles.
