Oracle started testing the TikTok algorithms

To dispel concerns about the collusion of the PRC government and the ByteDance company, the American cloud giant Oracle began to test the algorithms of the short video service TikTok and the model of content upgrades on the platform.

A representative of TikTok said that as part of an updated partnership project with Oracle, an American company would be able to review on a regular basis recommended platform algorithms and content upgrading methods, Axios reported. It was believed that the TikTok administration was blocking or marking materials related to topics of importance to Chinese authorities: criticism of official Beijing, Tibet's independence and events in Tiananmen Square.

TikTok's problems in the U.S. began in 2020, when the President's administration tried to ban his work because it feared that American users' data might be at the disposal of a Chinese-controlled company. An alternative was offered by the administration of the new President of the United States: in order to calm the troubled public, it was decided to locate American data on the national territory and open algorithms for study by experts.
