MediaTek announced a T830 hardware platform designed to create various client devices with 5G cell phone support. These could be mobile hotspot solutions, fixed wireless web access equipment, etc.
The platform contains a processor with four Arm Cortex-A55 computational nuclei with a tactical frequency of 2.2 GHz. It is possible to work with operational memory of the LPDDR4x/LPDDR5 standards.
The product consists of the MediaTek M80 modem, which operates in the fifth generation cellular networks below 6 GHz. The peak rate of data transmission towards the subscriber reaches 7.01 Gbit/s. The reverse compatibility with previous generations ' networks has, of course, been realized.
The T830 platform can work in tandem with MediaTek Filogic chips that support Wi-Fi/Bluetooth wireless communications. Among other things, support to 5G NSA/SA networks, Ethernet 1/2.5/5/10 GbE and GPS/BeiDou/GLONASS/Galileo/QZSS networks is mentioned.
