MegaFon reported on the upgrading of the cellular network in one of the world's largest exhibition complexes, the UAU. By increasing the capacity of base stations, the peak speed of mobile Internet access has been raised by 60%, up to 1.4 Gbit/s.

In the first six months of this year, it is noted that the number of visitors to the PAU has increased by 20% over the same period last year, while the consumption of mobile Internet traffic has also increased: in the first half of the year, it increased by 25%, and more than half of the total amount of data transmitted to the PNAM was on social media, video services and mass media.

MegaFon upgraded the 4G network throughout the exhibition complex, increasing the capacity of base stations by an average of 2.5 times, with special attention to the most popular sites: the entry group, the space pavilion, and the area at the Fountain of the Peoples, where the capacity of the base stations has been increased to 10 times.

As a result, the peak rate of data transmission has reached 1.4 Gbit/s, which is comparable to that of 5G networks. By the end of this year, MegaFon is expected to increase the speed of mobile Internet and other popular tourist destinations in Moscow.
