TSMC and Intel: No change in Meteor Lake release schedule

Yesterday's report from TrendForce's analysts stated that Intel had asked TSMC to hold off orders to produce Intel Meteor Lake chips using a 3-nm process, caught the attention of both companies, wrote Tomxes Hardware. Both claim that there is no change in their production plans.

Meanwhile, Intel once again confirmed in its financial report that Intel Core 14-generation processors with the code name Meteor Lake would be available in 2023.

In a report yesterday, TrendForce alleged that Intel had decided to postpone from late 2022 to the end of 2023 the start of mass production of the built-in GPU Meteor Lake processors, which would be performed under the 3-nm TSMC process, and that decision allegedly forced TSMC to reconsider its plans to expand production capacity under 3-nm technology standards.
