OWC released an Envoy Pro FX portable solid storage device on 4 Tbyte

OWC announced a new solid storage device, Envoy Pro FX, performed in a high-tension housing. A portable device can be used under unfavourable conditions, for example in open spaces in bad weather.

The storage device has a capacity of 4 Tbyte. To exchange data with the computer, the Thunderbolt 3 interface is based on USB Type-C, which provides a capacity of up to 40 Gbit/s. The declared data transmission rate is up to 2,800 MB/s. The USB Type-C is also powered with power, and no additional external power unit is required.

The device is designed to comply with IP67 and MIL-STD810G standards. The article is not afraid of falling from a height of 1.2 m, impacts and submersions to a depth of up to 1 m for 30 minutes.

The shell is made of aluminium. The dimensions are 110 x 65 x 20 mm. The compatibility with the Apple MacOS, Microsoft Windows, Linux, Chrome OS and iPadOS operating systems is guaranteed.

An Envoy Pro FX portable hard storage device for 4 Tbytes can be purchased at an estimated cost of $900.
