Rumors: Blizzard and NetEase canceled the World's World of Warcraft joint mobile game

The Bloomberg portal, with reference to those familiar with the situation, described another unannounced mobile game from the publisher and developer of the Blizzard Entertainment, which will not survive to launch.

According to Bloomberg, Blizzard cancelled a mobile MMORPG codenamed Neptune, which NetEase, a Chinese company, had been doing for over three years.

Neptune is said to have been conceived as a branch from the World of Warcraft, not a direct transfer to smartphones; events would have taken place in the same universe as in the case of the cult MMORPG, but in another time interval.

According to Bloomberg, NetEase, due to Neptune's cancellation, released the game team with over 100 members, with only a few of them offering internal transfers to other divisions.

Jason Schryer had been in development for more than four years.
