NIO's thinking about putting a new brand of electric vehicles worth $15,000 on the Chinese market

The nearest competition in the Chinese market in Tesla is copying not only the characteristics of American brand electric vehicles and the approach to automating management, but also the market strategy of Ilona Mask. According to rumours, NIO intends to gradually move its products into more affordable price niches, but at the expense of two separate brands. The budget itself will offer electric vehicles at a price of $15,000.

This information is shared by Electric with reference to Chinese sources. For more than a year now, it is reported that the Chinese company NIO has been carrying the idea of placing electric cars under the ALPS brand, which will be offered at a price of between US$ 22 and US$ 44,000 equivalent. The first cars of this brand are expected to be marketed in mid-2024.

As it has recently become known, NIO is also considering the creation of a third brand with the symbol Project Firefly, which will eventually serve the market in a price range of US$ 15 to US$ 30,000. All three brands of Chinese electric vehicles will independently develop their cars and sell them. The hierarchy structure will resemble the same Toyota Motor Corporation, which combines the bonus brand of Lexus with the more accessible Daihatsu and Scion. The latter, however, ceased its development in 2016, but no one prohibits Chinese manufacturers from using several brands to promote the product of a single concert. This is sometimes used too actively.

At the same time, Chinese media mention the plans of the NIO to put its own smartphones into the market. They will initially be integrated with the multimedia system of NIO electric vehicles as functionally possible and even use the same color of the hull. Each year, the company will produce one flagship model, using the best mobile processors in the market, with no more than two months behind the first passers-by. The first stamp, for example, can be based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen. 2. Compared to Apple products, the cost of the NIO products will be cheaper, but will exceed $1,000, and in terms of form-factor, will be a regular smartphone without flexible displays and other innovations. The first stamp will be available in the market in the next year.
