TSMC conducted an event to complete the main construction phase of the Fab 21 factory near Phoenix in the U.S. state of Arizona, which was built very quickly from March last to July of this year.

The company reported that more than 4,000 people, including the company's employees and partners, had taken part in the installation of the last beam of the Fab 21 plant, and that the production would be based on 5 nm technology. However, the construction was still under way: antivibration systems, electricity, sewage and air conditioning were to be installed, and the installation of production equipment would begin.

At the beginning of 2024, it will produce 20,000 silicon plates per month, a total area of 445.15 hectares, which means that it will be possible to open other stages of production, thereby increasing productivity to 100,000 plates per month, if demand is available.
