International Data Corporation published a study of the global tablet market in the second quarter of this year, estimated to remain at the second quarter of 2021.
Between April and June, approximately 40.5 million gadgets were sold worldwide, compared with 40.4 million shipments a year earlier, so IDC recorded a very small increase of about 0.15%.
Analysts note that deliveries in the last quarter exceeded expectations, partly because of the good demand for Chinese suppliers Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo and Realme.
The largest player in the global tablet market is Apple, with an estimated 31.0% result. Samsung is second with 18.1% and the three Amazons with 13.6%. The first five also included Lenovo and Huavei, which control 8.7% and 5.3% of the industry, respectively.
It is noted that only Amazon, plus 26.9 per cent, was able to grow in annual terms among the listed suppliers of tablets. All the other companies in the first five were "minus".
