Armenia's Vice-Premier, Ambartsum Matevosyan, received Amita Guptu, vice-presidents of AMD on corporate issues the previous day, as reported by the issue of Armenia's News with reference to the Vice-Premier's office.
Since 2019, there has been a subsidiary of Hilinx, which joined AMD in February this year. Mr. Matevosyan stressed the importance of the presence of AMD in the country and expressed the hope that the Armenian branch would become an important part of the company, which could be facilitated by local capacity. He said that the Government was prepared to discuss the vision of AMD and to consider the steps needed to expand its activities, which would contribute to the technological solution of world problems.
The AMD top managers, in turn, noted that Armenia had many talented young people who could be useful to the company — they would do their best to find suitable candidates, train them and attract them to work — the parties discussed the prospects for possible cooperation and the organization of activities within the framework of the country's digital development strategy, and discussed the establishment of joint technical training programmes.
