Bloomberg journalist Jason Schrieer, referring to his own informants, shared new details of the next open-world fighter in the Grand Theft Auto series from Rockstar Games.
According to Schrayer's interview with more than 20 current and former Rockstar employees, the development of the new GTA began in 2014 and is slower than expected.
In recent years, this has been due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and the changes in the Rockstar corporate culture aimed at improving working conditions, in particular the studio ' s efforts to eliminate the transformations it has undergone.
The original plan included a representation in Project Americas based on large areas of North and South America, but the main map would end up with a fictional Miami version of the surrounding area.
As previously reported, after the release, the game is planned to expand with new missions and cities, which should reduce the degree of processing, and the world will still be larger, with a record volume of space in the building series.
Schryer also confirmed in his material that the main heroes at Grand Theft Auto VI would be two, one of whom would be a Latin woman.
It is also reported that the new GTA was influenced by the departure of Rockstar co-founder Dan Hauser in March 2020, and that there will be fewer jokes about minorities and marginalized groups in the game.
With regard to the release dates, analysts are putting GTA VI on release in the next fiscal year, but developers are skeptical about such projections.
The employees say they don't know the exact dates, and they don't expect the game in the next two years.
