Gartner has published a recent forecast of the global market for semiconductor products, and analysts are recording a slowdown in the industry, and next year growth can be reversed by a fall.
In 2021, according to analysts, world expenditure on semiconductor products reached $595.0 billion. 26.3 per cent growth compared to the previous year ' s results has been recorded, but this year ' s growth rate will be markedly lower, at around 7.4 per cent, resulting in an industry of approximately $639.2 billion. Experts note that the chip deficit situation is improving, but the current geopolitical climate is having a negative impact on the market.
In particular, the supply of personal computers is expected to decline by 13.1% in the current year, resulting in a drop of 5.4 per cent in the earnings from the shipment of semiconductors in this segment, and a decrease of 5.4 per cent in the supply of semiconductor chips for smartphones.
In 2023, Gartner believed that the global market for semiconductor products would show a fall of 2.5% to $623.1 billion.
