The Meta VR garrison*Quest 2 is worth $100 since August 1

Meta* reported that, with effect from August 1, it would increase the cost of the Meta*Quest 2 virtual reality garrison by $100, so the 128 Gbyte permanent memory version would increase to $399.99, while the 256 Gbyte version would cost $499.99.

The virtual reality garrison Oculus Quest 2 was released in 2020 and estimated by the manufacturer at $299, which is $100 cheaper than the original Oculus Quest released in 2019. Despite the lower price of the Oculus Quest 2 in the basic performance, it offered twice as much permanent memory as 64 Gbytes. At the beginning of this year Meta* rebranded the Oculus, including a change in the name of the Meta*Quest 2.

The manufacturer explains the increase in the cost of Meta*Quest 2 with higher production prices, as well as logistical costs. As a partial compensation, the company will offer new buyers a copy of the 30-dollar Beat Saber game from August 1 to December 31 of this year.

In some markets, Meta*Quest 2 is also sold in restored form, and the prices of such devices will also increase from August 1 to August, to $349 and $429 per version from 128 and 256 Gbyte, respectively.

Meta* also recalled plans for the future, and this year it is going to release a new virtual reality garrison, now known as Project Cambridge, followed by a new generation of Meta*Quest.
