After Samsung officially confirmed that a major event would take place on August 10 with the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 smartphones with flexible screens, the head of Samsung MX Tae Moon Ro's mobile unit posted some results on the company's blog and reported that new devices would be suitable for both operation and expression.
Mr. Ro recalled the Flip3 and Fold3 presented a year ago: according to him, 70% of buyers chose a less expensive first device, and over the past year the company had implemented 10 million smartphones with warehouse displays, so that the once exotic devices had grown by 30% compared to 2020, and that was easy to explain: third-generation gadgets had become truly massive, and they had not been followed by a series of problems of the original Galaxy Fold. Flip3 and Fold3 were water-resistant, highly durable and relatively democratic at a cost of $999.
Samsung MX has not said much about fourth-generation smartphones yet. He noted that gadgets are equally good for different tasks, both for productive work and for expression. The company is confident that success will be accompanied by new smartphones with flexible displays — Samsung plans to produce at least 15 million copies in the coming year.
